The Sakura Calm Ritual is a specially adapted version of our signature Sakura Ritual, designed with the safety and comfort of expectant and new mothers in mind. While based on the same luxurious experience, this treatment is slightly shorter to reduce any potential discomfort from lying down, and has been carefully modified in the following ways:
Shortened Treatment Time to prioritise comfort and prevent strain during pregnancy.
Adjusted Scalp Massage focusing on gentle tension relief, while avoiding stimulating acupressure points that could trigger contractions.
Pregnancy-Safe Products with no harsh essential oils, ensuring complete safety for both mother and baby.
This treatment still delivers the same nourishing scalp cleanse, soothing steam therapy, and hydration benefits of our Sakura Ritual—just in a more mindful, mother-friendly format.
Perfect for supporting scalp and hair health during pregnancy and breastfeeding, without compromising on relaxation.

The Meaning Behind Our Package Names

At The Headspa Lounge, every detail of our experience is inspired by the beauty, intention, and deep-rooted traditions of Japanese wellness. We have chosen to name each of our Headspa rituals after iconic Japanese flowers, not only for their elegance but for the symbolic meanings they carry — each one reflecting the essence of the treatment it represents.
In Japanese culture, flowers are more than just beautiful; they are rich in meaning and often used in rituals, art, and poetry to express emotions and seasons of life. Just as each flower holds a unique purpose in nature, each of our Headspa rituals is designed to meet different needs — from gentle renewal to deep therapeutic care.
Kiku (Chrysanthemum) — The chrysanthemum is a cherished Japanese flower symbolising renewal, wellbeing, and gentle rejuvenation. As your entry-level ritual, Kiku offers a softly restorative introduction to the Headspa experience, providing a calm, uplifting first step into Japanese wellness.
• Sakura (Cherry Blossom) represents beauty and new beginnings — a perfect name for our introductory, refreshing ritual.
• Fuji (Wisteria) symbolises grace and flow, mirroring the gentle balance of relaxation and care in our signature treatment.
• Yuri (Lily) embodies purity and refined luxury — a fitting name for our most immersive, bespoke experience.

Treatments & Hair Extensions Policy
Important: We Are Unable to Offer Japanese Headspa Treatments to Clients with Hair Extensions
At The Headspa Lounge, our treatments focus on deep cleansing, detoxifying, and nourishing the scalp and natural hair using specialist techniques, warm steam, scalp exfoliation, and therapeutic massage.
Unfortunately, we are unable to perform Japanese Headspa treatments on clients with hair extensions, including bonded, taped, sewn-in, or clip-in extensions. This is due to several important reasons:
-
Scalp Access: Hair extensions limit full access to the scalp, making it impossible to deliver the deep cleansing, exfoliation, and treatment work essential to our process.
-
Extension Damage Risk: The cleansing agents, warm steam, and massage techniques may weaken adhesive bonds, cause slippage, or disrupt sewn-in wefts.
-
Tangle & Matting Risks: The intensive scalp washing and rinsing process can cause tangling or matting at the root area, particularly where extensions are attached.
-
Compromised Results: The presence of extensions can block scalp exfoliation and treatment absorption, preventing you from receiving the full benefits of your Headspa experience.
For these reasons, we kindly ask that clients with hair extensions wait until they are fully removed before booking a Japanese Headspa treatment.
We are happy to advise on suitable treatments post-extension removal to help restore scalp health and support natural hair growth.
Thank you for your understanding.
Pregnancy Policy
